Unfortunately, Shanty Creek resorts to move in the direction of snowmobile provided rides via a wagon, so we won’t have dog sled rides for the 2025-2026 season.

With being unable to have a location that is centralized around visitors our insurance quote of $2500 will not be something that we can meet. I unfortunately work full-time as a nurse and that requires every other weekend which means approximately only four weekends per year that we can provide rides.  $2500 is only available for an annual policy so therefore, we cannot provide rides when there is not snow on the ground as they will not allow us to use the golf cart.  They stated that I need to install wheels on the sled which eliminates alls mechanisms to stop. I don’t think insurance companies understand how dog sledding works.
